ABOUT HOMEWARD PIKES PEAK (HPP)

SUMMARY
The OVW Case Manager and the Transitional Living Program Resident Assistant is a dual role that’s split into half and half of a full-time schedule, as such:
The OVW Case Manager is a Case Manager working with the OVW Grant (Office on Violence Against Women) and works closely with relevant departments to support immediate and transitional housing for
victims under the transitional rehousing model. This position is Non-Exempt and reports to the Director of Housing. This part of the position is grant-funded and is approved for 20 hours per week.
The Transitional Living Program Resident Assistant* provides continuity in housing and facilities for the Bloom Recovery Home, which is designated for pregnant women and mothers with children, and
Project Detour, which is designated for women. This position ensures that each resident lives within the program parameters, adheres to the client handbook, and maintains a safe and nurturing
room/apartment for themselves and their family. This part of the position is also grant-funded and is approved for 20 hours per week.
This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week and including weekends.
* To maintain our Colorado Agency for Recovery Residences (CARR) certification, only women may
perform UA testing, only women will be considered for this role.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Transitional Living Program Resident Assistant
• Manage orientation for new residents and clients.
• Assign rooms, coordinate new client move-ins and changes as they become necessary.
• Administer UA’s and BA’s (mouth swabs as needed) to the program participants, regularly and on an as-needed basis.
• Conduct weekly house meetings with Lead Case Manager and team.
• Provide recovery-oriented life skills groups or trainings as needed or requested.
• Mediate client conflicts, receive complaints, and coordinate responses with the Case Manager and Director of Sober Homes.
• Assist with the discharge of clients, including a ride to other service providers (i.e., detox) if needed, move-out room inspection and inventory, change door code, etc.
• Record notes timely in required databases or electronic health records for services delivered to residents.
• Inspect bedrooms and common areas, review chore completion weekly, and report to Lead Case Manager. Clean out bedrooms after a discharge and prepare the room for the next resident.
• Coordinate routine replenishment of household supplies and food as needed.
• Maintain an inventory of furnishings and obtain new donations as needed.
• Inspect physical building/house/equipment monthly with a checklist to ensure safety and quality is maintained.
• Work with the Director of Operations for all repairs and maintenance needs as necessary. Be present on site when contractors are, as needed.
• Work closely with Case Managers, Recovery Home Director, and VP of Programs for any emergencies to mitigate and resolve any personal, medical, or facility emergency. Coordinate any immediate
needs, as well as follow-up to facilitate incident reports through final resolution of the emergency, per program policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Case Management specific to OVW (Office on Violence Against Women)
• Maintain a case load of up to 6 women.
• Provide Case management and supportive services, as requested by clients, with attention to trauma-informed care (with special emphasis and knowledge of domestic violence).
• Provide life skills education during case management and through support and education groups to clients engaged in the OVW program.
• Collaborate with all community organizations for self-referrals of clients for the OVW transitional housing program.
• Collaborate with sober living staff and TESSA for referrals of clients for the OVW transitional housing program.
• Support clients to engage in transitional housing with rental assistance in a “transitional housing model”; identify, apply, and move into housing; and when possible, with immediate needs
while searching for housing, utilizing housing resources.
• Maintain all confidentiality and privacy standards per HIPAA requirements.
• Other duties as assigned.
HOMEWARD PIKES PEAK TEAM RESPONSIBILITIES
• Attend and participate in organizational staff meetings, training, and other events as requested.
• Attend and or interact with donors, attend community events, or fundraising as requested.
• Integrate with the overall organization and collaborate with the community.
• Produce documentation in a timely manner as requested for audits and audit resolutions.
• Maintain office environment to professional standards and display abundant teaming skills.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in a Human Service field required. Master’s degree preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in a human service field, providing direct or indirect client supportive services.
• Ongoing education, knowledge, and training in generalized health care standards, substance abuse
recovery process and treatment, mental health care, and trauma-informed care skills.
• Lived experience is preferred, with an understanding of challenges related to homelessness, mental illness, and substance abuse.
• Experience working directly with people from diverse socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds.
• Ability to communicate effectively, perform crisis intervention, and display harm reduction capabilities and trauma-informed care.
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries with clients.
• CAS (Colorado Addiction Counselor) or CAT (Certified Addictions Tech) certification is preferred.
• First Aid / CPR certified, or willing to obtain within 3 months of hire.
• Strong computer skills required with the ability to work with electronic record-keeping applications, use of Excel spreadsheets, including PowerPoint and Word.
• Understanding of HIPAA regulations and standards regarding privacy and confidentiality in the provision of therapy services and medical billing.
• Valid Colorado driver’s license, clean driving record, and must have personal vehicle insurance.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing job duties, the employee will be required to sit and stand throughout their shift. Must be able to move or lift 25 lbs. on a regular basis, and heavier on occasion. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
COMPENSATION
The salary for this position is $22.00 – $25.00 per hour.
This is a full-time, non-exempt position working 40 hours per week, including weekends, with 2 days off during the week.
