Position Summary
This position provides continuity of services on Saturdays, Sundays, and overnights, in housing and facilities for The Commons, a new supportive housing apartment building in Colorado Springs. The team members will ensure that each resident adheres to the rules of the program and their lease. The overnight hours of work performed are 8 PM – 8 AM, 7 days a week. This position will work up to three 12-hour shifts per week. This position reports to the Lead Case Manager at The Commons. Discussions regarding individual assignments to specific shifts will occur during the interview and hiring process and will be finalized with the Supervisor.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
FACILITIES MANAGEMENT AND RESIDENT SUPPORT
• Provide support to residents living in a supportive housing program. Potential crisis intervention, recovery support and resource and referral • Regular walk-throughs of the building to ensure wellness and safety of all residents. Identify any problems or needs for maintenance for the next day.
• Support residents in their recovery and redirect the client to work with their Case Manager to ensure the client is supported through their individual service plan. May utilize motivational interviewing and trauma-informed care in support of the clients.
• Mediate resident conflicts, receive complaints, and coordinate responses with building staff.
• Work closely with property management and The Commons support staff to mitigate and resolve any personal, medical, or facility emergency.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
• Lived Experience is useful to understanding the culture of a supportive housing program within a Housing First model.
• Advanced understanding of the mental health and substance abuse recovery process. Peer Recovery Coach Certificate preferred.
• First Aid Certified and CPR trained requirement; Mental Health First Aid by NAMI requirement (or within first 30 days of employment)
• Must be able to meet physical requirements of job description including ability to move or lift 25 lbs. occasionally.
Compensation & Benefits
The pay rate for this position is $23 per hour. This is a full-time position authorized to work no more than 40 hours per week. HPP offers paid holiday, vacation, and sick leave for full-time, regular employees. Other benefits
include medical, vision and dental insurance that the employee may select at one-half the cost of the monthly premium. Additionally, short-term disability, accidental death and dismemberment, life insurance, and EAP is provided at no cost to the employee. Participation in 401K is also offered.
